Havura Shabbat Services

Online, Weekly

Seven-Minute Shabbat

Join us in welcoming Shabbat every Friday at 6pm NL time.

Seven-Minute Shabbat is a weekly online event. It is a quick, easy, kid-friendly Friday night "service" to help bring the peace of Shabbat into your week with an accessible service and the support of some enthusiastic toddlers.

Havura services are informal, inclusive, and open to all.

Check out our Calendar page and Special Events page for updates!

Note: We are not currently holding regular in-person Shabbat services.

Reform Judaism in Atlantic Canada

Online, Monthly

Reform Judaism in Atlantic Canada is a new and emerging progressive religious community located in Nova Scotia and serving the entire Atlantic region. This mostly virtual community is dedicated to serving those who are unaffiliated or otherwise disconnected from the existing Jewish community options in Atlantic Canada, with a specific focus on being “barrier-free” and serving interfaith families, 2SLGBTQIA+ Jews and others who are seeking a progressive Jewish community.

The community was founded by Rabbi Dr. Naj Siritsky who leads online Shabbat services once a month in addition to holiday services.

You can register for upcoming services, view recordings of past services, and learn more about this community and Rabbi Siritsky at their website:

Holiday Events

The Havura celebrates Jewish holidays throughout the year with meet-ups and dinners. We have a number of young families in our community and can provide fun craft kits and learning materials for those celebrating holidays with their children.

During the High Holidays, we offer joint services in collaboration with Beth El Synagogue, also located in St John’s.
